President Bola Tinubu has appointed Olugbemisola Odusote as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Law School. The appointment was announced in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and takes effect from January 10, 2026, for a four-year term.
According to the statement, Mrs Odusote will be responsible for the academic leadership, administrative management and strategic direction of the Nigerian Law School across all its campuses. She will also serve as the main link between the institution and key legal bodies, including the Council of Legal Education, the Body of Benchers and the Nigerian Bar Association.

Mrs Odusote, who is currently the Deputy Director-General and head of the Lagos campus, will succeed Isa Chiroma when his tenure ends on January 9, 2026. Aged 57, she becomes the first woman to lead the Nigerian Law School since its establishment in 1962.
