President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of State for Finance. He replaces Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite in the role. The development was announced by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Dr Uzoka-Anite has been redeployed to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State. This marks her third portfolio in the current administration. President Tinubu has also forwarded Oyedele’s nomination to the Senate for confirmation in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Mr Oyedele previously served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms. The committee was responsible for major reforms of Nigeria’s tax system. He is an economist, accountant and public policy expert.

He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Finance from Yaba College of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. He worked at PwC for 22 years and is currently a professor at Babcock University and a visiting scholar at the Lagos Business School.
