President Bola Tinubu has ordered an immediate ban on the sale or transfer of properties owned by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, within or around airport zones. The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, announced the directive after Thursday’s Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
He said the order overrides previous asset disposal plans, stressing that the facilities are vital national assets that must remain in public ownership. Mr. Keyamo explained that preserving these properties was essential to maintain on-site accommodation for critical staff such as firefighters and air traffic controllers, enabling rapid emergency response.
