President Bola Tinubu has urged industry stakeholders to join forces with the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, NUPRC, in a concerted effort to realise the ambitious goal of producing one million barrels of crude oil per day.
The president’s message was delivered by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, during the inauguration of the 1MBOPD initiative on Monday in Abuja. The event also marked the third anniversary of the NUPRC under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) of 2021.
The 1MBOPD project is a collaborative initiative spearheaded by the NUPRC, aimed at developing alternative funding mechanisms to boost oil production in the short to medium term. It promises expanded opportunities for all industry stakeholders to engage and benefit from this drive to ramp up output.
