President Tinubu condoles Super Eagles captain Ndidi over father’s death

President Tinubu condoles Super Eagles captain Ndidi over father’s death

President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to the captain of the Super Eagles, Wilfred Ndidi, following the death of his father, Sunday Ndidi. The condolence message was conveyed in a statement issued in Abuja by the President’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga.

Sunday Ndidi died in a road accident on Tuesday in Umunede, near Agbor, in Delta State. Wilfred Ndidi is a Nigerian international footballer who plays for Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas.

In the statement, President Tinubu said he was deeply saddened by the death and shared in the grief of the Ndidi family, friends and associates. He described the late Sunday Ndidi as a mentor and guide who had a strong influence on his son’s football career.

The President added that Sunday Ndidi’s modest beginnings and honesty inspired many who knew him. He prayed that God would comfort the Ndidi family and grant eternal repose to the soul of the deceased.
