President Tinubu Demands Results, Not Excuses, in Nigeria’s Fight Against Insecurity

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigeria’s service chiefs to intensify efforts in tackling the nation’s security challenges, warning that emerging threats must be swiftly neutralised. Speaking during their decoration ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the president told the commanders Nigerians expect results, not excuses.

He praised the Armed Forces for restoring relative calm to areas once under siege and for rescuing abducted citizens, but insisted more must be done as new armed groups surface in the North-Central, North-West and parts of the South.

Describing the situation as a grave concern, Tinubu called for proactive action, saying the crisis that began in 2009 must not persist. “We must smash the new snakes right in the head,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to supporting the military’s mission.
