President Tinubu Mourns Victims of Zamfara School Fire, Orders Safety Compliance

President Bola Tinubu has expressed profound condolences to the families and guardians of those who perished in a tragic fire that engulfed an Islamic school in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, on Tuesday night.  

In a statement released on Wednesday by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the President extended his sympathies to the state government and the proprietors of the school. He also wished a swift recovery to those receiving medical treatment.

Emphasising the need for vigilance, President Tinubu urged all public and private schools to prioritise the safety and security of children. He further directed education sector regulators to enforce strict compliance with safety protocols.  

Meanwhile, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has conveyed his sorrow over the incident. In a statement issued from Gusau, his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, described the governor as ‘heartbroken’ and committed to investigating the causes of the fire to prevent future tragedies.
