President Bola Tinubu has nominated three non-career ambassadors to represent Nigeria in the United States, the United Kingdom and France. The nominees—Ayodele Oke, Colonel Lateef Are (retd.) and Amin Dalhatu—were announced by presidential aide Bayo Onanuga, who said their postings will be confirmed after Senate screening.
Dalhatu previously served as ambassador to South Korea, while Oke is a former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency and ex-envoy to the Commonwealth Secretariat. Are, a former Director General of the State Security Service and one-time National Security Adviser, also has a background in military intelligence.
