President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja on Thursday, 14 August, for visits to Japan and Brazil, with a stopover in Dubai en route.
In Yokohama, Japan, he will attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development , TICAD9, from 20 to 22 August. The summit, themed ‘Co-create Innovative Solutions with Africa’, will focus on economic transformation, private investment, and sustainable development. He is also expected to meet Japanese business leaders and hold bilateral talks.

TICAD, launched in 1993 by Japan with UN, AU and World Bank support, rotates between Africa and Japan.
From 24 to 25 August, Tinubu will be in Brasilia for a state visit at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, to strengthen cooperation, meet investors, and sign agreements. He will be accompanied by ministers and senior officials.
