President Bola Tinubu has directed an investigation into the arrest and arraignment of minors detained for participating in the #EndBadGovernance protests.
Briefing State House correspondents on Monday, Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, said the president issued the directive to Lateef Fagbemi,the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
According to the information minister, President Tinubu also directed the immediate release of all minors arraigned over their involvement in the hunger protest, as he told the humanitarian affairs ministry to look into their rehabilitation.
On November 1, the police arraigned 76 persons, mostly malnourished minors, for alleged involvement in the #EndBadGovernance protest, charging them with treason.
