Qatar Urges Iran to Halt Attacks on Gulf Countries

Qatar Says It Arrested Iranian IRGC Sleeper Cells

Qatar has called on Iran to immediately halt attacks on Gulf countries and allow diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel. The appeal was made on Monday by the Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman, Majed al-Ansari, during a news conference in Doha.

Al-Ansari accused Iran of targeting residential areas, energy facilities and Hamad International Airport, saying the Gulf states are not parties to the conflict and should not be attacked. The war began after the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28.

Iran has since carried out drone and missile attacks on Israel and targeted United States assets and sites in Gulf countries. More than 1,400 people have been reported killed in Iran during the fighting, while at least 15 people have died in Israel.

Iran has denied responsibility for some of the attacks on Gulf countries and has called for a joint investigation, but Qatar rejected the proposal, insisting Tehran should first stop the strikes while regional contacts continue to seek de-escalation.
