Qatar’s Prime Minister Condemns Israeli Rafah Attacks In Meeting With Arab Foreign Ministers

Qatar’s Prime Minister, who also serves as its Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, met with foreign ministers of the Arab Committee on the sidelines of the EU Council of Foreign Ministers, in order to, in his own words, exchange views on the situation in the Middle East.

In a post on X, he affirmed Qatar’s condemnation of the Israeli army’s aggression against a refugee camp in the city of Rafah, and in the entire Gaza Strip, and, according to him, its continued violation of international law.

On Sunday night, the Israeli army bombed a camp housing displaced Palestinians in Rafah, killing at least 45, mostly women and children. This attack came on the heels of an order from the International Court of Justice late last week for Israel to cease its offensive on Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military says its aircraft struck a “Hamas compound”. Meanwhile, Oxfam has said the situation in Gaza is beyond catastrophic.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the strike a ‘tragic mistake’, as the IDF says the military advocate general has ordered a probe into the matter which will be conducted by what they call a top-tier General Staff Fact-Finding Assessment Mechanism.
