Rabat to Host Nigeria vs Gabon in World Cup Play-Offs

The Confederation of African Football has confirmed that the Moroccan capital, Rabat, will host the 2026 African World Cup qualifying play-offs involving Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Nigeria will face Gabon in the first semi-final on November 13, with Victor Osimhen expected to lead the Super Eagles against Marseille striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Osimhen’s hat-trick against Benin Republic earlier this month helped Nigeria qualify for the play-offs on goal difference.

Later that evening, Cameroon will take on DR Congo in the second semi-final, with both sides seeking to advance to the final scheduled for November 17, also in Rabat.

The two finalists will progress to next March’s intercontinental play-offs, where six nations will compete for two remaining World Cup slots in the tournament to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
