Remo Stars suffered their first defeat in nine league matches as they fell 2-0 to Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Sunday.
Isaac Saviour put the hosts ahead on the half-hour mark with a well-struck free-kick from 25 metres, before Kingsley Maduforo doubled their advantage just four minutes into the second half.

Meanwhile, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, Heartland secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Shooting Stars.
Chukwuma Agor opened the scoring for the hosts on the hour, only for Adam Mustapha to restore parity from the penalty spot ten minutes from time. However, a late penalty from John Bassey, converted two minutes before the final whistle, sealed all three points for Heartland.
