Rashidi Ladoja crowned 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland

Rashidi Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, has been crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland. The coronation took place at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the state capital.

The staff of office was presented to the new monarch by Governor Seyi Makinde. Ladoja turned 81 on Thursday, a day before the coronation, and succeeds Owolabi Olakulehin, who died in June.

The new Olubadan previously served as senator for Oyo South, in addition to his tenure as state governor.

The coronation was attended by dignitaries including former Ogun State governor Ibikunle Amosun, former Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Sultan of Sokoto Saad Abubakar, and the Alaafin of Oyo, Abimbola Owoade.
