Remo Stars have been crowned champions of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League after a tense 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes in Ikenne on Sunday.
Olamilekan Adedayo struck late, finding the net six minutes from time to secure the decisive win for Daniel Ogunmodede’s side.
With 68 points from 35 matches, Remo Stars have built an unassailable lead over second-placed Rivers United, who trail by 10 points.

The triumph marks a historic milestone, as Remo Stars become the first privately owned club to claim the NPFL title since the now-defunct Udoji United achieved the feat in 1996.
It is also a landmark for the South West, with Remo Stars becoming the region’s first champions since Julius Berger lifted the trophy in 2000.
The Sky Blue Stars will now carry Nigeria’s hopes into the CAF Champions League next season.
