A new report has highlighted significant gender disparities in digital access and social attitudes in Nigeria. According to *Gender in Nigeria*, published by Dataphyte, only 13.4% of women have used a computer, compared to 21.8% of men.
The findings are based on the 2023–24 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey, released by the National Population Commission. The report also examines education, marriage, and access to health information.

Notably, cases of reported rape rose from 29% in 2020 to 65% in 2022. Meanwhile, 48.2% of women believe wife-beating is justified under certain conditions, underscoring entrenched cultural norms that sustain gender-based violence.
