Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retired), has announced that a re-worked 2025 budget for the state will prioritise healthcare, education, agriculture, and infrastructure. The spending plan is also expected to boost job creation and integrate technology into key public services.

He made the disclosure while meeting with the Rivers State caucus in the National Assembly, led by Senator Barinada Mpigi, at Government House, Port Harcourt.
Since assuming office, the retired naval chief said he has focused on restoring law and order, working with security agencies to create a safer environment where residents feel valued. He reaffirmed his commitment to making Rivers a model of peace and economic stability, ensuring that citizens can pursue their livelihoods without fear.
