Rivers Governor Cautions Officials on Discipline and Loyalty

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has warned the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Dagogo Wokoma, and Chief of Staff, Sunny Ewule, that involvement in unauthorised or secret meetings would lead to immediate dismissal. The warning came after their swearing-in at Government House in Port Harcourt.

The oath-taking ceremony was administered by David Ihua-Maduenyi, Chief Registrar of the State High Court. Governor Fubara charged the new officials to prioritise service over political showmanship or personal ambition and stressed that discipline, loyalty, and commitment to the welfare of the people must guide their actions.

He specifically cautioned against any conduct that could embarrass the government, including participation in unauthorised nocturnal meetings. Fubara expressed confidence in Wokoma’s ability to deliver on the responsibilities of the SSG’s office while upholding the integrity of the state government.

The governor’s appointments followed a reshuffle after a renewed peace deal with former governor Nyesom Wike. Dr. Benibo Anabraba and former Chief of Staff Edison Ehie were relieved of their positions as part of the reorganisation.
