Rivers United head coach Finidi George has expressed delight after his team defeated El Kanemi Warriors three-nil at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. The victory moved Rivers United to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League table with two games in hand.
Samuel Wisdom scored twice while Chijioke Mbaoma added a third goal from the penalty spot to secure the convincing win. The coach said the early goal helped the team gain confidence and maintain pressure throughout the match.
Finidi also praised the tactical adjustments made during the game and highlighted the impact of midfielder Iyowuna Douglas, who he said brought stability and clarity to the team’s midfield.
