Rivers United fought back from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw against El-Kanemi Warriors in their Nigeria Premier Football League matchday nine encounter in Port Harcourt.
After a goalless first half, El-Kanemi Warriors broke the deadlock through Sama’ila Bello on the hour mark. But Rivers United quickly responded, with Taofeek Otaniyi finding the equaliser just three minutes later, allowing Coach Finidi George’s side to maintain their lead at the top of the table, now with 21 points from nine games.
Meanwhile, in Aba, Enyimba clinched a dramatic 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City. Ifeanyi Ihemekwele put the home team ahead early, scoring in the sixth minute, but the visitors leveled in the 90th minute thanks to Toyeeb Ajeyigbe. Enyimba, however, had the last word, with Moses Adikwu netting a stoppage-time winner to seal the points.
