Nigerian actor Richard Mofe-Damijo and singer Ayra Starr have been named among the cast for the upcoming film adaptation of *Children of Blood and Bone*, the bestselling novel by American author Tomi Adeyemi.
The film, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, known for *The Woman King*, is expected to be released in early 2027. It boasts a high-profile cast that includes Thuso Mbedu, Damson Idris, and Oscar-winner Viola Davis, with additional roles featuring Cynthia Erivo, Idris Elba, Lashana Lynch, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

In a move to ensure authenticity and showcase Nigerian talent, the production team also held an open casting call in Nigeria for supporting roles.
