Gernot Rohr, the head coach of Benin Republic’s national football team, has revealed that he accepted a pay cut to take on the role after being dismissed by Nigeria. While coaching the Super Eagles, Rohr’s salary was reported to be $45,000 per month. However, with Benin Republic, he now earns around $25,000.

Mr. Rohr, speaking candidly, explained that his decision to join the Cheetahs was driven by passion rather than financial gain. He stressed that he took the job for the adventure and the opportunity to work on a significant project, rather than for monetary reasons. He also expressed his appreciation for Benin Republic, a country he had already come to know during his playing days.
