RTEAN Issues Warning Of Violence Amidst Tensions Between Road Transport Unions In Ogun State

In Ogun State, the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has warned of a possible escalation of violence amongst rival transport unions in the State. 

Tiwalade Akingbade, Secretary of the RTEAN, issued the warning at a press conference to address the crisis among commercial transporters in the state. 

Reports say a row over control of parts of the state led to an outbreak of violence amongst members of the Ogun State Park Management, the State Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), and the RTEAN last Wednesday. 

Premium Times reports the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, was at the event when the fight began and some union leaders reportedly sustained injuries.
