Sanwo-Olu donates 100 million naira to military veterans

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced a donation of 100 million naira to the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Legion, as part of activities marking the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day. The donation was made on Monday after the governor received members of the association in Lagos.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also presented two utility vehicles and four housing units to support the welfare and operations of military veterans in the state. He said the gesture reflects the state government’s commitment to recognising and supporting those who served the nation.

Speaking after a State Executive Council meeting, the governor said the support was intended to show appreciation for the sacrifices made by former servicemen and women. He described the Emblem Appeal as a national responsibility to honour those who lost their lives and those who returned with injuries sustained in service.
