Sanwo-Olu Pledges Stronger Support for Persons With Disabilities

Lagos records 55 percent oversubscription of ₦200 billion bond

The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights of persons with disabilities and advancing sustainable development goals across the state. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu delivered the assurance during an event marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, the governor urged Lagos residents to uphold dignity, justice and empathy in their interactions with persons living with disabilities. He noted that inclusion is not an act of charity but a matter of equity and responsible governance.

Sanwo-Olu stressed that no society can claim progress while excluding millions of citizens from equal opportunities, adding that Lagos remains committed to strengthening its disability laws and support systems.
