Scottish-Nigerian actress Carolyna Hutchings has shared her experiences of growing up as a mixed-race individual in Nigeria, revealing that she encountered racism while being raised by her grandmother.
The movie star disclosed that she faced significant bullying throughout her primary and secondary education due to both the colour of her skin and the texture of her hair. Hutchings emphasised that these challenges forced her to learn how to defend herself.

In a recent interview, monitored by Radio Now’s Newsdesk, Hutchings also discussed the racial prejudice she encountered in the workplace. Despite her qualifications—including an MBA, an MSA in international law, and a doctorate—she described facing persistent negativity when voicing her opinions on various issues, underscoring the difficulties she faced as a beautiful mixed-race woman in a professional setting.
