Security agents in Lagos state will be fitted with body cameras to ensure accurate documentation of their interaction with citizens. Officers will also be trained by the state’s Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI), headed by Prince Oyekan Falade.

This is all part of the deployment of digital tools for security operations across the state. The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, approved a 3-day mass training which will take place in May and after the training, all state-funded law enforcement officers will be commissioned to wear body cameras for their operations.

The governor hopes this would improve transparency and accountability in the activities of law enforcement agencies, and put the state government in a better position to respond to security challenges in real-time.
