A combined security team of police, soldiers, local hunters and vigilantes have killed 67 suspected bandits in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Details of the operation were revealed by the Sarkin Lere, Malam Jamilu Aliyu Bawa who met with Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed.
The team, which was working on directives from the State Police Commissioner, also rescued about 20 kidnap victims and recovered 8 AK-47 rifles and rounds of ammunition in Lere District.

The Sarkin Lere assured Governor Mohammed that local vigilantes and hunters in the area are battle ready to ensure that the bandits are completely flushed out and victims still in captivity are safely rescued.
On his part, the Governor assured that his administration will continue to support and equip security agencies in the fight against insecurity across the state.
