The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has reacted to heavily armed security personnel storming and raiding its headquarters at 8:30pm yesterday.
In a press release by the NLC head of Media and Public Relations, Benson Upah, they asserted that the operatives stormed the Labour House, broke in and ransacked the bookshop on the 2nd floor carting away hundreds of books and other publications. They added that the invading troop claimed to be looking for seditious materials used for the #EndBadGoveranance Protests.
The raid, which was carried out six days after the #EndBadGovernance protests started, was squarely condemned by the union, and they demanded the immediate withdrawal of the security operatives from its headquarters.

While raising concerns about the legality of such actions, as the armed security operatives showed no legal document permitting them to invade the NLC premises, they asserted that even in the dark days of military rule, NLC secretariats were never invaded and ransacked by security agents.
