The Senate has confirmed Bernard Doro as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria following a brief screening session that lasted less than 30 minutes. Doro’s appointment follows the resignation of Nentawe Yilwatda, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, who is now the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
During his screening, Doro outlined his plan to create a humanitarian ecosystem guided by impartiality and independence. He said he would promote synergy among security agencies to better reach individuals affected by crises, adding that technology will play a crucial role in improving humanitarian coordination.

Lawmakers commended his qualifications and experience, expressing confidence in his capacity to serve. They subsequently asked him to take a bow and leave, formally confirming his appointment.
Born in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Bernard Doro holds degrees in Pharmacy, Law, and Business Administration. He is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner with over two decades of professional experience in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service and has also led youth mentorship and social impact initiatives within the diaspora.
