The Senate says it will former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, over the N30 trillion ‘Ways and Means’ obtained under his watch by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration if the current leadership of the bank does not provide the needed explanations.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on ‘Ways and Means’, Senator Jibrin Isah (Kogi East), made the statement when top officials of the CBN, led by the deputy governor, appeared before the committee at the National Assembly in Abuja.

The Senate had inaugurated an ad-hoc committee led by Senator Isah, to probe how the N30 trillion Ways and Means loans of the CBN was obtained and spent by the administration of President Buhari.
Briefing newsmen after the meeting with the CBN top officials, Senator Isah said the committee discovered that Mr. Emefiele unilaterally gave approvals in several instances in the documents presented to the committee, saying his decision was illegal.
