The Senate has reshuffled several of its key standing committees in a move aimed at strengthening oversight functions. New appointments include Senator Yahaya Abdullahi to head the National Security and Intelligence Committee and Senator Shehu Buba for Livestock and Animal Husbandry.
Senator Mustafa Musa now chairs the Committee on National Planning, while Senator Osita Ngwu has been named acting chair of the Air Force Committee.

The reorganisation follows the dissolution of some security-related committees last week during a review of oversight structures.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio said the changes are part of broader efforts to improve legislative efficiency and address evolving national challenges.
