The Senator representing Borno South Senatorial District, Ali Ndume, has again raised concerns over the endemic problem of corruption in Nigeria, bemoaning the continued celebration of people who steal public funds.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Kano, Ndume highlighted how societal values have contributed to the normalisation of ill-gotten wealth.
The senator, while expressing dismay that those who embezzle public funds in Nigeria are not only unchallenged but are also praised for their riches, called for a deep reflection of developed nations where wealth is not only scrutinised but questioned.

While lamenting about how the ostentatious display of sudden wealth is often met with admiration rather than suspicion, Senator Ndume disclosed that his previous attempts to introduce a law on unexplained wealth in Nigeria have been unsuccessful.
