The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on President Bola Tinubu to investigate an alleged ₦57 billion missing, diverted, or stolen from the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in 2021.
In a statement released on Sunday, Kolawole Oluwadare, SERAP’s Deputy Director, urged the President to instruct the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, and anti-corruption agencies to launch a thorough probe.

SERAP emphasised the need for anyone involved in the alleged corruption to face justice, with all missing funds recovered and returned to the national treasury. It expressed concern that vulnerable Nigerians continue to suffer the consequences of widespread corruption in the ministry and other government agencies.
