Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company, SNEPCo, a subsidiary of Shell plc, and Sunlink Energies and Resources Limited have reached a final investment decision on the HI gas project offshore Nigeria.
According to Shell, the project will supply up to 350 million standard cubic feet of gas per day—equivalent to about 60,000 barrels of oil—at peak production to Nigeria LNG, in which Shell holds a 25.6% stake. Output is expected to commence before the decade ends.

Shell’s Upstream President, Peter Costello, said the project reinforces the company’s commitment to Nigeria’s energy sector and supports its goal of expanding global LNG output. The development, tied to NLNG’s Train 7 expansion, is expected to boost gas exports, create jobs, and strengthen Nigeria’s role in the global energy market.
