Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, better known as Simi, has achieved her first international milestone as her hit single ‘Duduke’ is certified Gold in New Zealand after selling 15,000 units. The award marks her debut foreign recognition since the song’s release in 2022.
‘Duduke’—a heartfelt ode to her unborn child—captured global attention for its tender lyrics and symbolic music video, where Simi proudly showcased her baby bump. The accompanying #DudukeChallenge inspired fans worldwide to share personal tributes.

Speaking about the song’s legacy, Simi revealed that many admirers fondly call her daughter Adejare “Duduke.” She said she takes no offence at the nickname but prefers that her child be addressed by her real name.
