The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that six people died in a road crash involving an articulated vehicle on Tuesday evening in Lokoja, Kogi State. The accident also left 60 individuals injured, some critically.
Samuel Oyedeji, the FRSC Sector Commander for Kogi, provided the casualty figures and confirmed that the injured were rushed to Kogi Specialist Hospital and Federal University Teaching Hospital Lokoja for medical treatment. He attributed the crash to over-speeding and urged motorists to strictly follow road safety regulations.

Oyedeji also stated that FRSC personnel, in coordination with police and Civil Defence officers, worked swiftly to provide emergency response. He added that the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Federal University Teaching Hospital Lokoja.
