Chairman of Dandume LGA, Basiru Musa, confirmed the incident and said efforts were made to alert security forces ahead of the attack. Although police and military personnel responded, they were unable to pursue the bandits beyond their operational boundaries as the assailants retreated into the forest.
Musa described the situation as dire and called on the government to step up security operations in the region to protect lives and property, following the increasing frequency of such violent attacks.
