SNB Calls for National Information Policy to Ensure Ethical Broadcasting

The Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB) has called for the establishment of a National Information Policy to guide ethical and responsible broadcasting nationwide. Ismail Sani, Vice-President of the SNB’s North-Central Zone, stated that such a policy would ensure the consistent dissemination of accurate and fair information and promote equal access to reliable news, even in rural areas.

Mr. Sani noted that the policy would also foster media independence balanced with accountability, reinforcing the broadcasting industry’s role in supporting national development. He highlighted that during its recent National Executive Committee meeting in Lafia, the SNB resolved to collaborate with government bodies, regulatory agencies, and private partners.

The move aims to advocate for an environment where broadcasting aligns with public interest, contributes to national development goals, and upholds media integrity both locally and globally.
