Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Mr. Idris Mohammed Gobir, has accused opposition parties of deliberately exploiting the region’s security crisis for political gain ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing APC social media influencers at a training session organised by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Deputy Governor Gobir alleged that some political actors would prefer the insecurity to persist, viewing it as a strategic tool to discredit the current administration.

He urged party communicators to stay focused on promoting government achievements rather than being distracted by opposition narratives.
While admitting that the APC once capitalised on the perceived failures of the previous PDP-led government, Gobir stressed that the focus now must shift towards public enlightenment and constructive engagement.
He said the party’s media teams must be equipped to ensure accurate information reaches the public promptly and effectively.
