Sophia Momodu’s Lawyer Demands ₦1bn from Davido

A lawyer representing Sophia Momodu in a custody dispute with Nigerian singer Davido has demanded one billion naira in damages over alleged harassment, cyberbullying and threat to life.

Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah made the demand in a letter dated 24 February 2026, following a court hearing earlier in the month concerning custody of the child she shares with Davido. The dispute escalated after the singer announced on social media that he was withdrawing his custody bid and criticised the lawyer’s conduct in court.

In the letter, Enedah said comments made about her online, including being described as “the worst lawyer ever”, had damaged her reputation, caused emotional distress and raised concerns for her safety and that of her family. She also accused the singer of disrupting proceedings by turning a custody matter into a public issue.

She has asked Davido to cease further public comments, issue a retraction and apology across his social media platforms and in two national newspapers, and direct his followers to stop any harassment, warning that legal action will be filed at the Lagos High Court if the demands are not met within seven days.
