South Africa’s World Cup qualifying campaign faces uncertainty as FIFA reviews a potential breach involving midfielder Teboho Mokoena.
Mokoena, 28, was serving a one-match suspension after receiving a second yellow card against Zimbabwe last year. However, he featured in Bafana Bafana’s 2-0 victory over Lesotho, prompting their opponents to lodge a complaint. Lesotho are calling for South Africa’s three points to be forfeited and awarded to them.

While disqualification from the qualifiers is not at stake, South Africa could face a three-point deduction if FIFA rules against them. The team currently tops Group C as they await the verdict.
