Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington, born Darlington Okoye, has been granted bail following his arrest during a performance in Owerri, Imo State, on November 27. The news was confirmed by his lawyer, Stanley Alieke, via Instagram on Monday.
The arrest has sparked controversy, with allegations pointing fingers at Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy. Deji Adeyanju, a member of Speed Darlington’s legal team, claimed Burna Boy orchestrated the arrest in retaliation for remarks made by the rapper.

Speed Darlington had accused Burna Boy of an improper relationship with embattled U.S. rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, who currently faces allegations of sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
While the case continues to draw attention, the allegations remain unsubstantiated. Neither Burna Boy nor his representatives have publicly commented on the matter.
