The Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh, has congratulated Esther Nworgu, who won the silver medal in the women’s up to 41 Kg powerlifting at the ongoing Paralympics in Paris, France.
Her road to winning the silver medal saw her set two Paralympic records with her last two attempts at the coveted gold medal. She was eventually defeated by China’s Zhe Cui who set a new record of 119 kg.

In a statement on Wednesday, the sports minister said Esther Nworgu’s feat is heart-warming, historic and inspiring.
