Stock Homes With Food, Medicines, Others, Labour Tells Nigerians

The Federal Government will meet with the representatives of the organised labour today in an effort to prevent the nationwide protests called by the Nigeria Labour Congress.

However, the Assistant General Secretary, NLC, Chris Onyeka, has advised citizens to stock their homes with food items, medicines and other essential things ahead of the commencement of its nationwide mass protest against the removal of fuel subsidies and the escalating cost of living in the country.

Also, the National Deputy President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Tommy Etim, faulted the government for not showing up at a scheduled meeting last Friday, thus prompting organised labour to leave the venue in Aso Rock Villa.

The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) and the General Secretary, NUPENG, Afolabi Olawale, say both their unions will comply with the NLC directive.
