Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has urged leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to resolve internal disputes and foster unity ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking at the commissioning of a N102 million asphalt overlay road in Ilorin, Kwara State, Lamido stressed that internal reconciliation is crucial for the party’s progress.
He called on PDP stakeholders to focus on rebuilding and strengthening the party, warning that prolonged divisions could undermine its future. Also speaking at the event, former Akwa Ibom Governor and PANDEF leader, Obong Victor Attah, lamented Nigeria’s disrupted development since the 1966 coup.

Attah pointed out that while it once took Nigeria seven years (1953-1960) to draft a constitution, the process can now be completed in just six months.
The one-kilometre road project, featuring drainage on both sides, was funded by former APC presidential aspirant Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim. He described the initiative as a contribution to improving the health, social, and economic well-being of the Ilorin community.
