The Sultan of Sokoto, His Majesty Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, was in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, yesterday, to pay condolences to the Emirate, people, and government over the recent devastating flood disaster.
Accompanied by the Etsu Nupe, Yahya Abubakar, and other prominent traditional leaders, the Sultan visited the Palace of the Shehu of Borno and donated N50 million to the Borno Emirate Council.
During his visit to Government House Maiduguri, the Sultan sympathised with Governor Babagana Zulum and the people of Borno, and he offered prayers for the repose of those who died and quick recovery of the injured.

His visit came on the heels of a previous visit by the Sadaukin Sokoto, Muhammad Lawal Maidoki, who delivered food items and relief materials worth N30 million to ease the suffering of those affected.
