Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has officially retired from international football, ending a storied decade-long career with the national team.
The 31-year-old defender announced the decision in a social-media post on Thursday, describing it as a choice made “with peace.”
Troost-Ekong made 83 appearances for Nigeria, featuring in multiple major tournaments, including the Olympics, the FIFA World Cup, and several editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.

He described representing Nigeria as the “greatest privilege” of his life, and said his support remains for the team.
