Super Eagles vow to avenge AFCON 2021 defeat to Tunisia

The Super Eagles are determined to prevent a repeat of their last AFCON defeat to Tunisia, according to captain Wilfred Ndidi. Nigeria lost one-nil to the Carthage Eagles in the Round of 16 at the 2021 tournament.

Ndidi said the team has reflected on the previous loss and used it as motivation, adding that the squad is well-prepared for the upcoming match. The midfielder made the comments at a pre-match press conference on Friday.

He noted that the painful loss in 2019 has strengthened the team’s confidence and resolve, with players focused on ensuring a different outcome this time.
